Meet the Team Behind Our Immigration Legal Services
Andrew Oliver (Andy) is a co-owner of Shaklee & Oliver and the managing attorney of our office in Seattle, WA. Andy earned his law degree in 2007 from George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C.
Andy worked for several non-profit organizations in addition to serving in AmeriCorps prior to becoming a lawyer. As a University of Washington undergraduate, he studied literature and linguistics, including the Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, and Arabic languages.
Andy takes no greater satisfaction than by helping immigrants. He is adamant that the United States of America owes her strength to the time-honored tradition of immigration, and expresses his conviction by taking exceptional care of all his clients’ legal needs.
In his free hours, Andy enjoys hiking and traveling with his wife. He is excited to one day return to India, Mexico, and Guatemala. He also looks forward to his travels to Kenya, Brazil, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Jonathan (Jon) Shaklee is a co-owner of Shaklee & Oliver and the managing attorney of our office in Kennewick, WA. Jon studied political science and Spanish as an undergraduate at Western Washington University. He graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2007.
Jon was born in Orange, CA to immigrant parents from Jalisco, Mexico. He was adopted at birth and later moved with his family to Roseburg, OR. From a very young age, Jon contemplated what it means to be Chicano and how he could help serve the immigrant community.
Following high school, Jon spent several years on a religious mission in Caracas, Venezuela and surrounding areas. During law school, he traveled to the Dominican Republic to help construct a learning center near the village of Cruz Verde. He also spent a summer as a judicial intern along the Mexican border at the U.S. District Court in Laredo, TX. Throughout these travels and others, Jon was exposed to the immense challenges confronted by immigrants. As a result, he has always felt compelled to serve his clients with respect and gratitude, and these experiences continue to motivate him today.
A native of Washington State, Andrew (Drew) White spends most of his time serving Shaklee & Oliver’s clients facing deportation/removal in our Kennewick, WA office. Drew earned his law degree from the Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2010. He has practiced immigration law for his entire career.
Drew lived in northern Spain for two years and speaks fluent Spanish. He also lived in Seoul, South Korea while clerking for a large firm during law school. Drew was an editor of the Law Review and the Journal of Public Law, a member of the moot court team, and Vice President of Students for the Student Bar Association during law school. He received multiple awards for his service to the student body.
Outside of work, Drew enjoys spending as much time with his wife, children, and dogs as possible. He can often be found in the early morning hours riding his bike around the Tri-Cities area.
All our attorneys are licensed with the Washington State Bar Association and are members of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
